I looked out the window and what did I see.......

.... Wait a minute! Snow flakes falling on the apricot tree!

Spring has brought me such a nice surprise.... SNOW flakes falling right before my eyes!

I could take an armful and make a treat.... A snow cone ball? I guess that works for me!

It wasn't really so.... Oh wait, yes it seems to be!

SNOW FLAKES FALLING ON THE APRICOT TREE!

So it's not really an apricot tree. It's just a peach tree, but it still works right? Winter isn't officially started until December 21st so I guess this is just a little preview! Happy Fall!

Our peach tree!

Lots of snow!

Much too long!

So it has been much too long since the last time I have posted anything! I feel really bad about it. And I keep thinking about posting stuff and I get lots of ideas about posts but then I just don't ever find the time to actually post my idea! Since my last post we have had a lot of changes in our lives! I got a new job at a Credit Union and I am now working 6 days a week between my two jobs. Rian has gotten TWO new jobs and he is staying busy with school. He works at the school as a lab aide and so he gets to use his computer skills everyday. His other job that he recently got was for a company in Spanish Fork. He edits already drafted houses. The plans get sent to him and then he goes in and makes changes to them so then they company can build the house! He is absolutely LOVING his job and he loves that he gets to use his drafting skills. We are getting so excited for the holidays and can't wait for Christmas to come. It has been fun shopping for all of our family members and trying to find ideas for gifts that they would want. This is our first Christmas being married and we are looking forward to it. Rian was super excited to have our first tree and put up Christmas lights up on our house. He kept telling me "I have never had my own Christmas tree.......... Christmas lights." He makes me giggle. He took pictures of the tree as I was putting it up. Just a little under 4 weeks ago we took Rian's little brother to the MTC. It was so much fun to see him get ready for his mission. He has been so cute sending us letters each week and keeping us updated on the new things he is learning. He is going to the Michigan Detroit mission. We keep teasing him that he better not get shot! Rian and I got the privilege of taking him to the temple when he was receiving his endowment. The little old ladies were so cute and so excited to have us there. They kept coming over to us and making all sorts of cute little comments. Rian's grandpa is a worker at the Manti Temple and that is where we had gone. We were getting ready for Riley to go get his stuff started and so one of the ladies said she would take me upstairs. So she was leading me up the stairs and saying hi to everyone and we came upon this one lady so we started talking to her and I stopped. The little old lady kept going. So when I came around the corner I heard her telling other temple workers that MY SON was going through the temple for the first time tonight. I ran around the corner and peeked my head and said, "Umm..... He is not my son. I mean he is a really good kid and stuff but he is my little brother-in-law!" The lady was so embarrassed. She appologized to me like 10 times! I was trying so hard not to laugh my head off. I then later was thinking geez how old did she think I was? Haha! So I guess I look like I could have a 19 year old son. We are going to try and do better and post stuff more often on here! I really love to read other people's blogs and I know that I need to keep mine updated too! I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday season!
This is our Merry Christmas Tree 2010!

Adventures :)

I think that we all enjoy adventures. We all go about them in different ways too. Some people like to set dates and plan and save money, others like to be spontaneous and follow a snappy idea. Well, I am not sure that Rian and I are really either one of those. We try and plan and save, and then the date all the sudden shows up and we're not ready for it. And to be spontaneous you have to have money to be able to afford the "come on let's just do it!" adventures. Which Rian and I have absolutely no money. So we mostly do stuff like "Let's go get a drink at Walker's" (the gas station down the street from our house that we visit so often everyone there knows us by name). That is about the extent of our adventurousness.
About once every other week we meet up with my Aunt that lives about a half hour away from us and we go to the temple together. Sometimes we go up and see her at the Timpanogos Temple or sometimes she will come down and we will go to the Provo Temple. Earlier this week we made plans with her that we would go up there and go do a session together. Well, last night while I was at work she text me and said she had some things come up and she would only be able to go either at 7 a.m. or at 5 p.m. Rian had to go to work at 3 p.m. and so I opted for the early time. She told me that she would meet us in the lobby at 6:40 a.m. Those of you who know me know that I am not fast at getting ready. I get distracted by the smallest things and I dread it anyway. Plus we had to schedule in time for the drive. So that meant that I would be getting up at 4 a.m. to be able to get ready and go for the travel. Rian was at work when I got home and so as I was waiting for him to get off I was planning out in my mind how I could break it to him that I signed us up for an early meeting. He isn't a morning person and so I knew he wouldn't be too happy about it. He didn't get home until 10:30 from work and I knew he would be tired from the whole day. I was bored out of my mind from sitting in my house for so long and only able to watch so many movies for so long. When he got home he said that we could go for a ride or something and that there was some great lightening going on out west of town. As we were walking out the door I told him about the temple situation in the morning. He wanted to just go to bed right away after that, but I wasn't wanting to sit at home for another minute. So we drove down to Wendy's and got some food and then went across the street to Walker's to get a drink. As we were leaving Walker's Rian had this great idea that we could go stay at my Aunt's house so that we wouldn't have to get up as early and then we would already be there. I was all surprised that he had come up with such a genius idea. We decided to follow the whimsical magic of the lightening and be spontaneous. So we ran home and started packing. I called my Aunt to let her know we were on our way. Well she didn't answer her phone but I wasn't worried that we wouldn't be able to get a hold of her. (this is the beginning of our adventure) I kept reassuring Rian that she would answer her phone because she always has her phone on. She is a phone junkie. As we are driving I kept calling her to see warn her that we were on our way. Well right before we were there I called and her phone went straight to her voice mail and Rian panicked. We got to her house and we were able to get into her garage, but I knew from living with her that she still locked the door to the house from inside the garage. So we tried it anyway and like I thought, locked. We knocked on the door a few times, found some keys and tried to force them into the lock, searched the garage for a hide-a-key, and there was pretty much no way that we were getting in. At this point Rian was mad at me. I felt bad because he was tired and we had to get up early and I knew that he was going to have to work tonight. He asked if we should just go home but he didn't really think that was a good idea either because we would get home really late and have to wake up even earlier just to drive back up there. So we talked about sleeping in the car, and then the garage, thought about a motel for about 5 seconds, and then opted for the car.
The car. Oh the car. My car is not very big and Rian is really tall. So I took the front seat and said that he could lay down in the back because I knew it would give him more room to stretch out. It was not working out. I didn't have anywhere to put my legs, my head was too level with my body so my nose was getting plugged up, and I don't know about you but sometimes I wish I could sever off an arm because they just get in the way when laying down. Needless to say..... It was rough. So I had this brilliant idea that my back seats lay down and then we could have more room to lay down because then we would have the space of the trunk too. So we got out and layed the back seats down and then layed the front seats down thinking it would make more room and then maneuvered ourselves into the car. I have a father that is always making sure that his girls are very well prepared for any sort of car breakdown. Thus meaning I have tow straps and jumper cables, a tool box, windshield washer fluid, a quart of oil, and many other things that I couldn't even name. We didn't have anywhere in the car to move those things to, so we had to try and sleep around them. As we were laying there I was laughing my head off. I thought that it was so funny and just our luck that this would happen. Rian on the other hand, wasn't laughing so much. He told me that maybe in 30 years it might be funny(meaning right now it is not funny at all). We were laying there, not comfortable in any way shape or form and I decided that we should go knock on my Aunt's front door and ring the doorbell. Surely that would wake her up. It would have to. So Rian and I wiggled and wormed our way back out of the car. We rang the doorbell like 6 times. Nothing. Geeze that woman can sleep! We went on another search around the front yard trying to find a hide-a-key, but I knew better and knew there was no such one. So back to the car. Scrunching ourselves and stuffing body parts into crammed spaces. I finally had to ask if he wanted to go to a motel. We whipped out my phone and Googled like 5 different motels. Oh nope! All of them were booked for the night. More luck just running our way. So the car it was. I could not get comfortable and I could feel my nose stuffing up because I didn't have a pillow. And for some reason Rian had decided to pack towels, however, they were in the garage. We had decided the leave all our stuff in there. So back out it was for me to try and find something more comforting to sleep on. By this time it was 1:45 a.m. We had to get up in three hours. We didn't sleep. It was a really rough night. I was freezing cold and Rian was sweating. He is just way too big for that car. The alarm went off at 5 a.m. and I was sure that my Aunt would have to be waking up soon to get ready. So we rolled and pushed back out of the car and rang the doorbell. Nothing. Great! I had to pee so bad so we decided to go find a gas station. We drove to the nearest one, closed. Went across the street to the grocery store, close. So off we went to Wal Mart. When we got back to my Aunt's house I just knew that she had to be awake. Lights still off, Aunt still sleeping. So this time I decided that I was going to brake down the door knocking if I had to. I went up and rang the doorbell and had it out with the door. About 10 seconds later I see my Auntie peeking through the blinds so I waved with a big smile on my face. She opened the door shocked to see me. So I told her what happened and she said she had just checked her phone about 10 minutes before to make sure that we didn't back out on her and she didn't have any missed calls or messages. WHAT?? I had been calling all night long! She let us in and would not stop apologizing to us because she felt so bad that we slept in the car. Turns out her phone malfunctioned somehow and all of her services were shut off. She couldn't call out, no one could call in. No one really knows how or what happened. Just somehow God wanted Rian and I to spend the night in the car. We went to the temple and had a great time. Then she took us to breakfast and the food was great. We took a 2 hour nap at her house and then headed back home so that Rian could get to work. She sent us home with lots of food for the next week and yummy treats that she had made. Oh yes, and a key to her house so that in case we do ever decide to venture up to her house without her knowledge again, we could get in and be able to sleep on a bed. Our little adventure was interesting. Today Rian was able to laugh about it and say that it was funny, even though he didn't think so last night. I think that is why it is called an adventure. Expect the unexpected, be prepared for anything, and I know you just have to laugh. It makes it seem so much better. Everything that could go wrong did, and somehow, in that tiny car with my cute Rian, I had so much fun. Life is all about the adventures and the way that you take them. So take the whimsical adventures and have fun, even when everything goes wrong.

The day has come!

My niece is now six years old and for the last three years of her life we have been convincing her that if she would stop sucking her thumb she could have her ears pierced. You would think that this would be an easy task. However, Daisy and her thumb have a very special connection that could not be broken. Ever since she started school she has started to peter out the thumb sucking. She would tell us that at school as they were reading stories she would want to suck her thumb, "but I just kept it in my mind." We were very proud of her for being conscious of this habit that we so very much wanted her to kick. As I was preparing to get married I tried to get her to stop so that she could wear pretty earrings with a matching necklace and be a part of my line. That still didn't work. But now the day has come that on her own..... THE THUMB SUCKING HAS STOPPED!! I was sitting at my mother-in-law's house and I had Daisy with me. She looked at me and said, "On Friday I am getting my ears pierced at the mall." And being myself I didn't believe her. I teased with her a little, but then when I got back to my sister's she asked Daisy if she had told me the good news. I asked Natasha if I could come along for this very exciting event!! I was so excited that you would have thought that I was the one getting my ears pierced. So I took many pictures of this very brave girl!! Daisy we are so proud!!

Bridals

For my bridals I had my most favorite photographer, Karl Hugh from Studio West Photography, take my pictures. He did such an amazing job. I had some crazy ideas and it was stuff he had never done before but he thought it would be fun to try it out so we went along for a ride. We had so much fun and the weather was fabulous! You would never guess that it was the day before Thanksgiving! I would have posted these earlier, but Rian wasn't aloud to see my dress before the wedding.. So here they are now.........!

My mom suggested this picture so we took it to humor her.. Love ya mom!!

This is my #1 man Winston.. My cute little dog!

Karl had me walk through the ashes and I couldn't even stand up.. I was sinking all over the place and trying my best not to make faces because I knew he was taking pictures of me!

Wedding Day

Rian and I got married in January and we have just barely started to receive pictures from our special day. My regular photographer was out of town for my wedding so he had his friend take our pictures for us. It was a very nice thing for him to do, however, he was not a very personable man and he didn't want to take anything that would have been original to this specific couple. He had his routine spots and poses and that was all he was going to do, and he was going to do it as fast as he possibly could get it done.. Which was rather convenient considering we had other places to be soon, but as a result of the pictures they didn't turn out all that well and I am quite disappointed that this is all I have to show for my wedding day at the temple.
